the Student Role.
30 Minutes Every Two Weeks
Most Student-Guide relationships involve one 30-minute Session every two weeks, or about 1 hour per month. It all depends on the mutual preferences of the Student-Guide relationship.
1:1 Support
You’ll be connected with an Uplink Guide who can share their own university experience and perspective.
Flexible Length
Some Students may only need one conversation to ask a few questions. Others may stay connected for several months.
Online & Flexible
Sessions are held online, so you can connect from almost anywhere with reliable internet and a device that supports browser-based calls.
All Backgrounds and Interests
Uplink is designed for Students exploring different universities, programs, careers, interests, and paths after high school.
Ask What Matters to You
Talk about university life, programs, workload, friendships, getting involved, independence, careers, or anything else you’re curious about.
Stay in Control
Your Guide can share ideas, experiences, and perspective, but the decisions about your future are always yours.
Pursue your ambition- talk with a current university Student, learn from someone who’s already there, and feel more prepared to make your next move.

"When I started university, I quickly noticed that some students had a window into university life long before they ever arrived. Older siblings, relatives, and connections who could tell them what to expect, what mattered, and what they wished they had known. Coming from a small town and a family with very little exposure to university, I didn’t have that same window. Uplink was created so more students could have that same kind of access and perspective."
- Josh Johnston,
Founder & Executive Director, Uplink
If you want a clearer picture of what comes next, start with someone who’s already there.
There is only so much you can learn from a brochure, website, or someone who went through university years ago. Uplink connects you with someone living it now- someone who can share what they’ve learned, what surprised them, and what they wish they knew sooner.
