Built and Run by Current
University Students.

"Uplink was built with student volunteers in mind because I know what it’s like to balance classes, work, clubs, sports, and everything else that comes with university. That’s why the Guide role is designed to be flexible, practical, and low-commitment."

More About
the Guide Role.

30 Minutes Every Two Weeks Per Student

Most Guide-Student relationships involve one 30-minute Session every two weeks, or about 1 hour per month per Student.

Up to 5 Students

Guides can work with up to five Students at a time, depending on availability, experience, personal preference, and current program needs.

Flexible Length

Some Students may only need one conversation to ask a few questions. Others may stay connected for several months.

Online & Flexible

Sessions are held online, so you can connect from almost anywhere with reliable internet and a device that supports browser-based calls.

All Backgrounds and Interests

Uplink Students come from a wide range of backgrounds and may be exploring different programs, careers, interests, and paths after high school. You don’t need to have everything in common with your Student-  your experience and perspective can still be valuable.

About 1 Week to Get Started

The typical application, interview, screening, and onboarding process takes about one week.

Built Around University Life

With one Student, the expected commitment is roughly 1 hour per month, making it possible to volunteer while keeping up with classes, work, sports, clubs, and other commitments.

Turn what you’ve learned at university into guidance that could make a real difference for the next Student.

Build Your Experience.
Make an Impact.

Group In Office Attire

Add meaningful volunteer experience to your résumé, strengthen your communication and leadership skills, and build real examples you can use in future interviews and applications- all with a flexible commitment that fits around university life.

"When I started Uplink, I wanted it to be a win-win for everyone involved. University students pick up so many skills and experiences without always realizing how useful they can be to someone else- from managing your time and meeting new people to getting involved and figuring things out on your own. Uplink gives Guides a way to put those experiences to use, help a high school Student feel more prepared for what’s ahead, and at the same time build volunteer, leadership, and communication experience that can benefit them in their own future."
